The Canadian Exporters Catalogue Web site is supported by the World Export Network. This site provides information about Canadian exporting companies and is designed to help connect importing and exporting buyers and suppliers. The site has an electronic catalogue that can be navigated by type of industry.

Annotated Web Link: The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine lists the current top 1000 Canadian companies and has connected the entries in the list with financial details and links to the Web sites of those companies.

The Canadian Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) represents Canada in other countries. The Department’s Web site has detailed and current information about Canada’s international trade in countries and regions throughout the world.

Strategis Canada, which is sponsored by Industry Canada, calls itself “Canada's Business and Consumer Site.” This very large site contains information on a wide range of business subjects, including company directories, trade and investment data, business information by sector, economic analysis and statistics, and research information. The site also has links to Strategis Guides on business subjects such as starting a business, financing and exporting and researching markets.

Statistics Canada is the official federal agency that produces statistics on Canada’s population, resources, economy, society, and culture. The agency’s Web site provides daily updates and reports and has sections on census data, community profiles, and up-to-date Canadian statistics on a wide range of subject areas including economic indicators, industry profiles, and international trade.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Statistics Web site has current import and export statistics, information on U.S. international trade in goods and services, trade balances with U.S. trading partners, export data by state, and profiles of exporting companies.

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a technical cooperation organization that helps the business sectors of developing and transition countries. The goal of the organization is to help countries achieve sustainable development. The ITC Web site has information on country trade statistics and trade contacts.

The Global Edge (from Michigan State University) Web site has current information on the business climate, political structure, history and statistical data for more than 190 countries; a directory of international business resources; market potential indicators; and a glossary of terms used in international business.

The “International Marketing Links” Web site is produced by James J. Vileta, Business Librarian at the University of Minnesota. This site has a very wide range–and lengthy list–of links that are useful for international marketing research: government resources, census and demographics, cross cultural issues, human rights issues, country links, international organizations, and import-export information.

The “International Companies by Market” Web site is produced by MarketsDirectory.com. The site has contact information on companies that offers marketing research services around the world.

The Jones Soda Web site is designed to appeal to a specific audience. The site offers current news about Jones soda and other products (including T-shirts), contests to enter, a yearbook to sign, notes on the athletes used in Jones’ sponsored performances, and facilities to order products online.
