Ethicscentre.ca (formerly the Canadian Centre for Ethics and Corporate Policy) is a not-for-profit organization that works to develop and maintain an ethical corporate culture in Canada. The Centre’s Web site has links to information on codes of conduct, sustainability reporting, and social investment. Page 314 CBC’s Marketplace consumer affairs television program maintains a Web site with listings and descriptions of current (and archived) consumer product warning and recalls. The award-winning Marketplace program has been on the air for over 30 years. Page 320 The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) is an administrative tribunal that operates within Canada’s trade remedies system. The tribunal conducts inquiries and investigations into trade issues (for example, dumping and safeguards) and then reports to Parliament through the Ministry of Finance. Page 325 The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a coalition of 160 international companies (in 30 countries) that are committed to sustainable development. WBCSD works towards sustainable development by promoting eco-efficiency, innovation and corporate social responsibility. The Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR) not-for-profit organization develops, shares, and implements corporate social responsibility. Current CBSR projects include “GoodCompany Guidelines,” “Greening Your Workplace,” and “Business Beyond Kyoto.” The Institute for Global Ethics (IGE) promotes what it calls “ethical fitness” in individuals, institutions, and nations through research, public discourse, and practical action. IGE publishes documents and holds seminars designed to influence educational programs, organizations, and public policy. The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) promotes better living for all people through innovations that are designed to help societies live sustainably. IISD recommends policy on international trade and investment, economic policy, climate change policies, measurement and indicators, and natural resource management. TakingITGlobal (TIG) is an international organization, led by young people in more than 190 countries who collaborate on projects that address global problems. TIG sponsors events, organizations, and scholarships. The TIG Web site has related discussions, workshops, and reports on projects in different countries. Page 327 The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is a world business organization that speaks on behalf of enterprises from all sectors in every part of the world. ICC promotes an open international trade and investment system. The ICC Web site has guides to corporate governance, piracy reports, intellectual property information, and online contracting facilities. Page 332, County Link DFAIT’s “Viva Canada Mexico” Web site has a country profile and a current summary of relations between Canada and Mexico, along with information on trade and investments, culture and education, and travel and tourism. The site also has a link to the Latin America Network Information Center at the University of Texas.
